Movie Makers
It's no secret that without certain influences I wouldn't be inspired or capable of making movies with The Sims 2.
I have picked up tips and tricks, good and bad filming techniques and seen all sorts that can be done with this game
if you have the drive and ambition.
If I have learned something from another movie maker then I say it on this page and/or if I have seen a great movie
this is the place I'm bound to rant on about it.
Altas Productions - April Hoffmann (Sim Page) - (Personal Web Site)
I love this site, I spend a lot of time there. That said I do find touring April's page and watching her films a
little scary, I've had to change 'Simville' due to seeing 'The Awakening'. You can tell the direction I was heading
in with the trailer for episode 1 and it was getting a little too close, 'Simville' went back to the drawing board.
April is a contest winner with 'Missing', in fact April has a couple of awards under her belt. Her writing is second
to none and her directing and editing is top notch. I strongly recommend you check out 'The Awakening' and 'Coming Home'.
April Hoffmann, I salute you.
M1tchm Productions - Mitch (M1tchm) (Sim Page) - (Personal Web Site)
I found this movie maker via 'The Sims 2' page under a section that specialises in rotating fansites of movie
makers. There is a lot of nothing and broken links on that list, but Mitch proved to me that it's a list worth
searching through. 'Kyle's Life' is stunning work and I recommend it to everyone, even if you don't like
'Ths Sims 2', you should watch this movie/series.
His direction and movie making skills stand out from the crowd. 'Kyle's Life' is different because there are no
voice actors it's all music and each piece sees us through another part of Kyle's Life, a story which is told
beautifully dispite a single word never being spoken.
Decorgal Productions - Decorgal (Sim Page) - (Personal Web Site)
I've enjoyed watching the 'Adventures in Dating' series and 'Haunted Shadows', however this simmer has a
multitude of movies to watch and various pages to visit. There is a ton of stuff on these pages, but all
of what I have currently seen is top notch, it's really quite inspirational and enjoyable.
You can tell that these movies are made with a very careful hand, I get the impression that Decorgal is a
profectionist. However dispite everything looking stunning the writing often seems to fall short, but hey!
Who the hell am I to judge? It's not like my writing is amazing. Bottom line is I always go back for more.
Note: If you are a Sims 2 movie maker or are thinking of starting, check out the forum where you can advertise your work, website or
interest in making movies.
